Duo exhibition with Esther Schena at nano Raum für Kunst

The exhibition featured an installation composed of transparent textiles with text cut into them by Balca Ergener; a video projection and prints on the walls and windows of the art space by Esther Schena.

 

The texts cut into the textiles hanging in the space and beginning with the statements "If I open" and "my mouth" deal with the ability/inability to utter words and to reach the other - if not with words then with gestures. It becomes an interface for the video work where Schena is positioned inside the art space and printing/painting on the windows, then wiping her work away, to repeat the action later. The video plays with what is inside and outside, relating to how the mouth is a transition space between the inside of the body and the outside.
